- The Trump campaign is filing a doomed lawsuit over Nevada allowing registered voters to vote by mail. On the same day the suit was filed, Trump was encouraging people to vote by mail in Florida. Republicans have been concerned about Trump suppressing Republican votes in places like Florida with his anti-mail voting rhetoric.
- The Trump campaign is using doctored photos of Biden to make it seem like he is “hiding,” aligning with their false narrative that Biden won’t be seen in public. They used a photo of him at a football watch party, full of other people who were cropped out and a picture of him praying at a church in response to George Floyd’s murder. They’re also maintaining that Biden is afraid to debate Trump and won’t agree to it. Biden has already agreed to three debates. Trump has agreed to zero.
- Facebook and Twitter are both removing video clips posted by the Trump campaign in which Trump says children are “almost definitely immune” from the coronavirus. This is an absolute lie.
- In what was not supposed to be a campaign event today, the president took credit for signing the Veterans Choice program into law. Obama signed it into law. This is at least the 142nd time Trump has lied about this particular bill. He once again attacked energy-efficient appliances and faucets, this time talking about how people could not get water to come out of their energy efficient showers. He knows this from his vast experience using them. In another interview yesterday, the president once again said NATO member states owe money (they don’t), that the pandemic is just going away (it isn’t), that absentee voting and mail in voting are radically different (they aren’t), that George Soros is funding protesters (he isn’t), and that Biden wants a US without borders (he doesn’t).
