- Erik Prince, brother of Education Secretary DeVoss and informal Trump campaign adviser, has been recruiting literal spies to infiltrate liberal groups and Democratic congressional campaigns.
- The White House overruled CDC officials who wanted to warn elderly Americans not to fly during the coronavirus outbreak.
- The White House is delaying an annual report from the DNI detailing threats to the United States. This report concluded that the United States is not prepared for a pandemic outbreak.
- Trump again blamed Obama for the coronavirus testing delay. He’s lying. The rule he’s referring to was never implemented.
- Trump accused Democrats of wanting to limit families to one car. There is no such proposal. He lied.
- Kash Patel, former Devin Nunes aide now at the NSC, has been limiting what the intelligence community can tell Congress about ongoing election interference so as not to upset Trump.
- The CDC director said yesterday the country had the capacity to test 75,000 people. Only 10,000 people have been tested overall in the United States. Only 77 people have been tested by the CDC this week so far.
- Senator Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) has canceled an upcoming hearing about Hunter Biden after the media exposed the central witness is a corrupt Ukrainian who has been spreading Russian disinformation.
- The lack of urgency in increasing the number of tests comes from Trump’s desire to keep the reported number of infections low, which will help his re-election chances.
- The president said a Tampa rally has already had 100,000 ticket requests. He lied. The actual number is zero as the ticket requests are not available yet. The rally had not even been announced when he claimed this.
- The House plans to vote on their coronavirus aid package tomorrow. Mitch McConnell adjourned the Senate already so it won’t be voted on there until at least Monday unless he calls them back.
- Katie Porter grilled the CDC director today about a law which gives him authority to provide free testing to anyone in the country during an outbreak. He was unaware of this law despite her office contacting him about it a week ago. He initially would not commit to implementing this, but eventually agreed to do so. I’ve not seen any updates on this actually taking place yet, but will be watching.
